FlickScore ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with the FlickScore browser extension.

1. Information We Collect and Process

FlickScore is designed with a "privacy first" approach. We do not collect, store, or sell any of your personal data, browser history, or account credentials. The only data processed is as follows:

• Movie & TV Show Titles: When you browse supported streaming platforms (like Netflix or Prime Video), the extension reads the movie/TV titles on the screen to request their ratings. This data is transmitted anonymously to our backend server (https://flickscore.gexior.com) to retrieve IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and TMDb scores.
• Extension Settings: Your configurations (such as layout choices, score filters, and optional custom OMDb/TMDb API keys) are stored locally in your browser's secure profile using Chrome's chrome.storage.sync API. Custom API keys are never stored on our servers.
• Anonymous Usage Telemetry: If enabled in the extension options, the extension collects anonymous usage statistics (like button hovers and rating load status) strictly to maintain and improve website selector patterns. This contains no personal info and can be toggled off at any time.

2. Data Retention and Security

All data sent between the FlickScore extension and our API server is encrypted in transit using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL/TLS) HTTPS technology. Anonymized rating lookup results are cached on our backend SQLite database to minimize API usage and load times.

3. Third-Party Services

Our server communicates with the OMDb API, TMDb API, and Google Gemini API to fetch ratings. We do not share any of your personal identifiers or search histories with these parties.
